Taiga Takahashi is a fashion brand based in New York and Kyoto. The founder and designer, after receiving an education that blends Japanese culture with Western thought, established his eponymous brand in New York in 2017, following his graduation from Central Saint Martins (UAL). A passionate collector of American vintage clothing, particularly from the 1920s to the 1950s, Taiga Takahashi focuses on the pre-mass production era. Believing that the true value of craftsmanship already exists in history, he studies fabrics, stitching, and details of vintage garments from an archaeological perspective, reinterpreting them in a modern way and bringing them back to life. His project aims to create "timeless garments" by using traditional Japanese techniques such as weaving, dyeing, sewing, and natural materials, which are gradually disappearing.
